Free, universal child care means a better future for all kids—and our country. Together, we can build a child care system that works for everyone.

What is universal child care?

Child Care for All is a federally funded universal child care system that guarantees every family free and easy-to-access options to meet their needs.

Freedom to choose

Families can choose whichever kind of child care they want, including from a child care center, faith-based child care, in-home daycare, or a trusted family, friend, or neighbor.

Children can thrive

Child Care for All has rigorous health, safety, and child development standards, including ensuring safe staff-to-child ratios.

Inclusive access

Families can access care whenever they need it—including weekdays, nights and weekends—and child care is available that connects with a family’s culture and the languages families speak at home.

Support providers

Child Care for All would support the diverse child care workforce and make sure all types of providers earn a thriving wage and benefits.
